Trusting Along The Way
By Cindy Steeger

In the middle of any circumstance we can know that we have a true Helper. We can rest in the Lord because all any of us need is a “miracle”. A miracle is no hard thing for the Lord. The Lord is our hero and our miracle worker. But, is there anything that you could be doing different? Could YOU make a difference in what is going on in your life? Then, realize the Lord is setting you up for a miracle!
Psalms 37 says:

(3) Trust in the Lord and do good. Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

(4) Delight yourself also in the Lord; And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

(5) Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass.

(6) He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday.

(7) Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him – (this word patiently means – with expectation and confidence, it doesn’t necessarily mean to sit back on your hands and be frustrated because of time)

(8) Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret – it only causes harm,

(9) For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth

(19)They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine, they shall be satisfied.

(23) The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.

(24) Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down. For the Lord upholds him with His hand.

(25) I have been young and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendents begging bread.

(26) He is ever merciful and lends, and his descendents are blessed.

(28) For the Lord loves justice and does not forsake His saints (that’s you and your household) They are preserved forever…

(29) The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell in it forever.

(34) Wait on the Lord – (even when you feel pressure that you MUST be DOING something and remember “wait” doesn’t mean to do nothing, it means to be confident and with expectation) and keep HIS WAY, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land….

(39) But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.

(40) And the Lord shall help them and deliver them from the wicked and save them because they trust in Him.

I don’t have silver and gold to offer you but what I have I offer to you is better….the promise of God!

The Lord is faithful! As I reflect on the very difficult times that my family has been through and I wondered at the time how we were going to keep the electricity and water on or how groceries were going to be bought. God NEVER let us down. We had to make some changes in our lifestyle, do without things for a while, and even had to go ask for help with a local agency. My feelings were hurt, I was angry and frustrated and probably very difficult to deal with, but God was faithful to us and showed us mercy! He always came through for us and we never had anything cut off, nor did we ever go hungry, even with four extra mouths to feed.

We had to work through things with each other as well as individually. We are still standing on the promises and doing everything we can to keep our hearts right and trusting the Lord. It is so easy to allow the circumstances of life to throw us off target -- or to let the situations take our sight – to get us distracted!!

When I didn’t know what was going to happen to us, I finally reached a point of surrender to the Lord -- that I was not going to try to fix anything and whatever happens, happens.

Freedom came from that decision. My circumstances did not change, but I did. God took care of things -- as we had a need, it was supplied.

Sometimes I wish that God would send a truckload of solutions a head of time, but He chooses to be right on time instead. He wants us to learn to trust Him even though Satan and this world are trying to put all kinds of pressures on us.

The scripture says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you!” This tells us the order of God, to always keep Him and His interests first and He will take care of our need. Satan wants to throw so much at us to stop the progress that we’re making for the Kingdom of God. But God is going to take care of those who are His … and it is His job and His law – and He is more than able to do whatever He decides to do.

We will continue to pray for His victory to be manifest -- within every life that belongs to Him.
