Imagine... The Road To Life Restored
By Sheila Martinez
Imagine if you will, a child that has been in the place where a great crystalline wall
surrounded him. Surrounding with wonder, joy and brilliant light full of colors beyond words.
Now see the wall trembling, shaking – shattering! It has been destroyed and the entire
wall collapses with all of the shards - sharp, cruel-edged, and life-threatening - lying
on top of the child.
How would you rescue the child? With all of the strength your
arms carry, would you not be called into a required gentle and delicate extrication?
How would you do it without causing more harm? How would you move if it was your dear child?
The gentle love of God is constantly reaching down to restore His children to health and
wholeness. But sometimes we forget that gentle care is often necessarily slow and careful as we go through the rebuilding places found within trouble and trials.
We hear people say, “If God is God, why doesn't He do something?”
This is the vision I had
as I pondered these very words from a friend that does not believe God cares for all
people.
In this vision I knew that I was being shown, once again, just how much God does love us.
He is continually working on all things that pertain to life – even as the process of recovery
continues within creation.
The wall that I saw seems to be the area that was broken in the
fall – the ‘clothing' that humanity was given in the beginning - the garment of light that
covered Adam and Eve. It was shattered - destroyed as they agreed with the voice of deception.
They listened to the enemy of our souls. They were deceived and then in the fall became undone
from the connections to life, all hope and enter death. Then God found them hiding -- and they
found ‘naked'.
The Bible tells us that God is looking to and fro throughout the earth,
seeking whom he can bless. Is He looking to see if we can handle the next phase of the removal
process and to begin the next step of restoration?
Can we stand the pressure of healing?
Are we able to stand and receive, without complaining – knowing He loves us and will do us no harm?
Maybe we need to take a step back and look at the big picture of creation and just how
gently God is moving, even throughout the millenniums of time and consider this great love.
The love that is patient, kind, enduring all things. A love that is looking for the good to
come forth in us, even as we regain the life He is restoring – breathing again in real time - and
even on into eternity. Life to Life – to know no death – EVER!
How awesome is His plan –
gentle and kind?
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised – and let us not forget
His benefits.
He heals our minds, saves our souls and fills us with joy. He makes all things
beautiful in His time.
So, how shall we deny so great a salvation? Lord, You are so good! And
your mercy endures forever!
Thank God for His time and purposes under the heavens.
