A Taste From the Vine ~ A Handful of Grapes...
The Lighthouse

As I start my day it is always my heart's desire to begin with God.
After all He is the beginning of all things.
As I turn my thoughts and heart to him, I begin to pray and seek the wonder of his presence.
As I pray the image of a Lighthouse comes into my mind… the structure sitting on top of a
rugged cliff with the waves crashing all around as the sea churns.
As I start to visualize this lighthouse it is as if all of the components of what I am seeing
take on significance and a depth of meaning that go right into my heart.
The Lord is the foundation where a deep connection is laid (deep roots). These strong and
mighty connections keep the lighthouse sitting strong on top of the cliffs. It is of no
consequence what the weather brings it will still be standing.
I am the house sitting on top of the foundation. As you move upward to the very top the
light is burning brightly. The light is the Lord and Holy Spirit shining from within,
to be a beacon to the lost ships in the storm.
I always tell the Lord that he is free to use me to bring in those who are lost by
directing my light to shine even if I never know what happened. It's for his glory
and not mine.
Maybe one day when we are in heaven we will see what great things we have been a part of or maybe not. It really doesn't matter. All that does matter is that we have helped in some way to bring home the lost.
Lighthouses have been a part of the guidance system for the seafaring for centuries. That says to me that they looked for the light to show the way - and no matter the strength of the storm there will always be a LIGHT shining for us.
And we will find ourselves standing strong in the Lord as we follow His lead – and watch!
See? The sun is rising over the horizon even as we breathe in the salt air!

before.
